Intensive blocks of physiotherapy provide focussed input over a short period of time to accelerate progress and refine skills. At StarPhysio we offer daily sessions of 2–3 hours of physiotherapy (land-based and aquatic) for three to five consecutive days.
Each programme begins with a comprehensive assessment of your child’s functional ability and development. We will discuss your goals, priorities and any concerns before developing a tailored treatment plan. Therapy is then delivered intensively, allowing skills to be practised and refined in concentrated bursts.
Intensive physiotherapy can take place in both the clinic and the pool, giving children the opportunity to benefit from the unique properties of water alongside land-based approaches.
Who is it for?
Intensive physiotherapy is suitable for children and young people who would benefit from focussed therapy input to accelerate their progress. This may include children with cerebral palsy, acquired brain injury, developmental delay or other neuromotor conditions. It is particularly valuable for children working on specific functional skills such as walking, balance, posture or upper limb use.
Due to pool availability, intensive blocks are most often offered during the school holidays. We are currently building a waiting list for families interested in this programme.
